Capturing the beauty of Soviet porcelain figurines

I drew a few of my mom’s Soviet porcelain figurines. She always comes home with a bag full of old treasures and talks about each one like it’s a new members of our family.

Me: “Why do you like them so much?”

Mama: “I find them very interesting and special, as if they are revealing the hidden soft part of the Soviet Union”

I asked myself the same question, why I like them so much, and it’s simple. A young boy with rosy cheeks and white short shorts holding his dog, what is there to not love?
